Welcome to Pacific University!

Pacific University is committed to promoting equal opportunity for all by routing out all forms of discrimination through robust compliance practices, programming that fosters the development of an asset-based mindset, and initiatives that prioritize and embraces global perspectives among faculty, staff, and students. The goal is to support and build an institution lead by people who require, demand, and enjoy an inclusive, non-discriminatory excellence driven community that fosters life-long connections and mutual support. Our communal success rests on the recognition that complex problems and effective solutions are best approached by teams with a variety of diverse perspectives.

Pacific University continues to work on multiple fronts to support the University’s long-time tradition of being a nurturing and supportive learning environment and preparing students for success in a global community. We serve the goals and educational mission in partnership with the University Diversity Committee.

Diversity & Equity Campus Climate Survey

Under direction from the University Diversity Committee, a sub-committee was formed to review the 2019 and 2022 Executive Summary and create a presentation along with recommendations. This presentation is going through a governance tour across all major university committees and several departments, including President's Cabinet, Provost's Council, Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, University Council, and student senates.

The results from the latest 2024 survey will be matched against previous surveys to determine how far we’ve come, and make recommendations on where we need to go from the University Diversity Committee. We strive to engage the entire university in continuing anti-discriminatory work that supports all students, faculty, and staff to live lives of purpose.

The previous survey’s executive summary, presentation, and a recorded version of the presentation available to anyone at the University via Box.
