The grant will support Dr. Mike Espiritu’s work to determine the structure-activity relationship of a cone snail toxin called MIIIB with voltage gated potassium channels. These small peptide toxins are known as “conotoxins.” 
Rev. Miller served as president of the university from 1970 to 1983. He died Nov. 4 at age 101.

COVID-19 Vaccine & Booster Clinics
Pacific University is partnering with the Oregon Health Authority and FEMA to bring a COVID-19 vaccination and booster shot clinic to Forest Grove. All approved vaccine options, including first, second and booster doses, for those ages 5 and up will be available.

The Master of Social Work degree prepares students for advanced practice in the social work field, with a focus on values and ethics, theory, and field skills. Launched in 2014, the program is based at Pacific’s Eugene Campus but will expand in Fall 2022 to be available on the Forest Grove Campus as well.

Spokane "recruits" to Forest Grove Indian Training School
Two historians have compiled and published a sortable list of Native people who died while attending two boarding schools for Indigenous Americans in Oregon. The online resource, which covers deaths dating back to 1881, documents approximately 275 students and 30 non-students who were buried at the Chemawa School Cemetery near Salem, and two who are buried in unmarked graves at the Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.
