We are excited to inform you that the seismic upgrade, which represents a major milestone for the project, has been completed. The team also is beginning to build the schedule for post-construction activities related to prepping the building for reopening by the start of the spring semester on Jan. 29, 2024.

As a whole, the Pacific Hall project remains on schedule for a Jan. 10 completion date, and the buidling is on track to re-open by the start of spring term. We also are excited to see the new classrooms, computer labs, pods, and offices take shape on level 2 over the last couple weeks.
The construction team wrapped up interior concrete work this week. Window installation is complete on level 2, and the team continues to make rapid progress on window install on level 1. Inside the building, the team passed the first electrical cover inspection on level 2 while MEP, low-voltage and fire sprinkler work continues.
Many of the construction activities this week are continuing from last week. Brace walls continue to be installed on level 1, MEP and fire sprinkler work continues throughout the building, and windows are being installed.
The construction team completed the final four shear walls on level 2 in zone 2, a milestone for the seismic upgrade of the building. Correct installation of electrical boxes was verified during the box walk, and freeing up drywall will begin after cover inspections are completed at the end of September.
The construction team successfully shot six more shear walls the week of Aug. 28. The north fire lane and east walkway are now closed again following student move-in, and will remain so for the duration of construction.
The construction team was able to successfully shoot four shear walls the week of Aug. 21, and continue to make steady progress on window installation, framing, brace walls, and MEP rough-in inside the building.
The construction team successfully completed the first two shear walls last week. However, due to the high heat, we had to postpone the remaining two shear walls. To stay on schedule, we plan to shoot six walls the week of Aug. 21.
The construction team made significant progress during the week of Aug. 7. Crews are working diligently in anticipation of students arriving on the Forest Grove Campus for move-in day on Aug. 24.
The construction team hit a milestone last week, as they got ready for the first of several concrete pours for the bulk of the seismic upgrade beginning with the grade beams in the art gallery and along the north wall of level 1. Shear wall and brace wall work also contribute to the full seismic upgrade, which will continue through the month of August.
