• Why minor in Disability Studies?

Career Information
For students interested in healthcare, a disability studies minor complements science courses by focusing on the social, cultural and political issues that will shape their future careers. For those majoring in social sciences, education, or humanities, the disability studies minor provides an analysis of the most fundamental concepts of our culture: body and mind, normality and difference, freedom and rights, beauty and wholeness. Students study how these ideas affect our perceptions and impact our laws, institutions and day-to-day lives.

Declaring a minor in Disability Studies

• Pacific University students declare minors by the end of junior year or at 60 earned credits, after a major has been declared.
• Current students interested in Disability Studies should connect with the chair of Disability Studies, Dr. Cristy Sellers, as early as possible.
