Latino/a/x/e Outreach & Programming

Mission

To develop, supervise, and implement comprehensive support programs and events for students who self-identify as Latino/a/x/e. These programs are designed to assist in matriculation and retention of this student population. 

Latino/a/x/e Outreach and Programming serves as a central resource for current, prospective students, students’ familias, alumni, faculty, and staff regarding issues related to Latino/a/x/e students. We are dedicated to each students’ academic and personal success; providing one-on-one support and guidance to navigate and graduate from Pacific University.

Director 

Antonio Peña Anaya is the current Director of Latinx Outreach & Programming, which was established in 2023. Antonio immigrated to the United States at the age of four from Jalisco, México and grew up in Oregon. He graduated from Linfield University with a BA in Education in 2021 making him the first one in his family to graduate from college. 

Prior to coming to Pacific University, Antonio worked as a middle and high school teacher in bilingual programs around the area. Aswell, he has worked with local and national non-profit organizations that support DACAmented and undocumented students pursuing a secondary education. Antonio works throughout the year to offer support to prospective, incoming and current students and their families. 
 


Association of Latinx and Ally Students (ALAS)

Mission | To embrace, celebrate and educate on our diverse cultural identities as Latino/a/x/e at Pacific by creating spaces where all students, regardless of cultural background, are welcomed. From community building to event planning to multiple off campus events, ALAS welcomes anyone who would like to learn and celebrate our culture.
