Why Study Social Equity & Social Change?
Examine how social inequality is shaped by social structures and what can be done to reduce the levels of inequity that exist.
In the social equity and social change minor, Pacific students will engage with social science perspectives that deepen one’s understanding of how inequality is linked to social structures and cultural ideologies. Additionally, students will take courses that examine theories of effective social change and leadership. This background enables students to put this knowledge into practice and develop their leadership skills and voices as community leaders in the civic engagement courses that students complete to finish out the minor.
What Can You Do with a Social Equity & Social Change Minor?
This minor provides students with an academic experience that equips them with the knowledge and first-hand experience to be change agents in their community. Students learn the social and political contexts and the successful techniques to advocate for equity in their communities.
