2-year Sample Education & Learning Plan Capstone (Non-Licensure) - Transfer Students
The Education & Learning major is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the psychological, developmental, and curricular foundations of education. This major builds a strong foundation for careers working with children in various educational programs, including classroom teaching. Because Education and Learning is foundational to everything we do, it also prepares students for a variety of other careers such as Speech Language Pathology, School Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Education, Curriculum Writing, Patient Education, etc.
The Bachelor of Arts in Education & Learning culminates in either a capstone project that allows students to deeply explore their area of interest within the field, or a preliminary license in either Elementary or Special Education. This second option requires an application and interview for acceptance into the licensure program. Students who have little or no transfer credits within the major or who have significant core remaining may not be able to complete the license in addition to the major within 2-years. Students wishing to seek licensure should apply to the licensure program upon no later than April 15th of their sophomore year or upon acceptance to the university (if transferring to Pacific). This is a sample, recommended plan designed with transfer students in mind. Other configurations may exist. Students who are completing 4-years at Pacific should refer to the 4-year sample plan without licensure or the 4-year sample plan with MS/SPED licensure.
