Learn one of the world’s most widely spoken languages and prepare to interact in the global community.
Spanish majors study abroad for a semester in a Spanish-speaking country. Students may also practice their language skills with a native-speaking language assistant on campus or with students in other parts of the world via real-time video conferencing.
Other program highlights include short-term travel courses, such as ones we have offered in Spain and Ecuador (see the photo above by the former student, Gaby Glasser) and the opportunity to get first-hand experience teaching languages.

Pacific’s Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (OEDIA) is pleased to collaborate with the School of Healthcare Administration and Leadership to sponsor one Pacific student to participate in the fully-online Spanish Healthcare Interpreter Program (SHIP) this fall.
Horzynek will put her German and Spanish skills to use in Austria, where she will teach English to high schools and perform community engagement work at the Austrian Latin American Institute.
The School of Healthcare Administration and Leadership is excited to offer a fully-online Spanish Healthcare Interpreter training program beginning this fall. The program is an innovative, online professional training opportunity for community members who are fluent in both English and Spanish to become qualified healthcare interpreters in Spanish in the state of Oregon.
