Scot began working with ESL students in 1989 and has been teaching ever since. He has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a master’s degree in Composition & Rhetoric from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. He has studied in Norway and taught at universities in western China and Turkey. He enjoys supporting students as they transition into life in the U.S. and helping them reach their academic and personal goals.
Ty Merrick
Academic Coordinator

Ty has been working with ESL students since 2006. After finishing a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at the University of Oregon, she taught EFL in Seoul, South Korea. She enjoyed that experience immensely. After returning to the U.S., she earned a Masters of Education in English as a Second Language (ESL). Ty has studied many languages, including German, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Korean, and she enjoys helping students identify and overcome challenges associated with their native language and learning English.
Katelyn Eisenhooth
Assistant Director
International Programs
Katelyn is the Assistant Director of International Programs and has been working in international education administration for 5 years. She first became interested in international education after her study abroad experience in China during her undergraduate study at Allegheny College. Upon her return to the US, she went on to get a Master’s degree in higher education administration with a focus in international student and faculty services from Baldwin Wallace University. Her role at Pacific includes advising international students on immigration matters, conducting international student and scholar orientations, providing resources and support to the Pacific international community, serving as the staff advisor for the International Club, and leading the efforts in conducting events and programming for current international students & scholars.
