Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center is Pacific University’s nationally recognized performing arts venue and home to the Music Department.
The core of the building is the renowned performance hall, McCready Hall, a 400-seat recital hall designed for music and stage performances. The hall has state-of-the-art acoustics, as well as extensive PA and recording installations.
The Taylor-Meade building also is home to nine practice rooms (eight with pianos and one dedicated solely to percussion), as well as a piano lab with 14 Kawai electronic units and a MIDI Lab, a Mac-based system with extensive hardware and software systems.
Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center also features classrooms, rehearsal spaces, ensemble libraries, student lockers and lounge space, an instrument storage room, and faculty offices. Additional music facilities on Pacific's Forest Grove Campus include a rehearsal room in Burlingham Hall, designed to duplicate the recital hall stage in size and acoustics, as well as a world-class Music Library in the Tran Library, featuring an extensive collection of reference books, scores, recordings, and DVDs.
