Why Study Gender and Sexuality Studies?

Pacific students take an interdisciplinary approach to gender and sexuality studies that incorporates sociology, public health, psychology, history, biology, anthropology and literature. The gender and sexuality studies minor is the academic and research arm of the Center for Gender Equity (CGE), which supports gender equity through dialogue, programming, service, research, and education.

In the gender and sexuality studies program, you'll develop critical thinking skills and tools for creative expression. Engage in civic opportunities, participate in research projects, and even travel abroad to gain a broader perspective. The program's interdisciplinary approach offers unique perspectives that will equip you solve problems and serve diverse populations.

The Pacific University Center for Gender Equity promotes equity for marginalized sexual and gender identities through activism, education and support. Volunteer and practicum placements are available for students in the CGE.
