After experiencing interpersonal or systemic violence, it is normal to feel rage and anger. Those feelings can even be good. They can tell us that we care about ourselves and want to protect ourselves from harm, and can motivate us to advocate for change. But, without healthy ways of channeling anger, it can become a difficult and overwhelming feeling to carry around, and it can look for ways to express itself that may not really be as good for us.
If you are looking for ways to find outlets for rage and anger, join us at the Survivors’ Rage Workshop from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, at the Boxer Gardens. The event will be hosted by Jessie Fischman from the Student Counseling Center, and will feature (plastic) axe throwing, a fire pit for burning rage notes, and more resources for understanding and processing rage.
Pre-registration is encouraged! For any questions, email the Student Counseling Center at counselingcenter@pacificu.edu.
