Reducing winter slip and falls and other types of accidents begins with prevention.

Following are a few helpful tips and reminders when walking outside during inclement weather:

          1.  Plan ahead - Wait for bad weather conditions to clear before going out, if possible.

          2.  Wear non-skid, rubber-soled, low-heeled shoes, or lace-up shoes with non-skid soles.

          3.  Walk slowly and take small steps.

          4.  Stay attentive to the road and walking ground conditions.

          5.  Use handrails.

Report hazards that need immediate attention, during business hours, to Facilities Management (503)352-2213 or facilities@pacificu.edu.  All After hours and reports should be made to Campus Public Safety (503)352-2230 in Forest Grove, and (503)352-7207 in Hillsboro.
