Athletic Training Guaranteed Admission

Guaranteed Grad School AdmissionThe Pacific University Master of Science in Athletic Training Program participates in Pacific’s Guaranteed Grad School Admission Program. Students may apply for the Master of Science in Athletic Training Guaranteed Admission program as soon as they commit to Pacific as undergraduates or transfer students, or at any time during their undergraduate program.

Students who are admitted through the Guaranteed Grad School Admissions Program are guaranteed a place in Pacific’s athletic training program if they:

  • Complete their bachelor’s degree or are on track with the 3:2 Kinesiology & Athletic Training Pathway with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher;
  • Complete all required prerequisite coursework with a grade of C or higher;
  • Complete (with documentation) a minimum of 50 hours of volunteering or observation under the supervision of an athletic trainer or related healthcare professional; and
  • Fulfill the technical standards.

Students who complete these requirements may enroll in the athletic training program immediately following graduation, unless they are attempting to gain admission through the 3:2 program. Students may also take a break between graduation and beginning grad school, but they must enroll within two years of completing their bachelor’s degree.

After receiving dual admission and completing these requirements, students will have a place held for them in Pacific’s athletic training program. However, students will need to complete the ATCAS application, including transcripts, letters of recommendation, and essays, by April 1 prior to their fall enrollment.  (The recommended ATCAS deadline is Jan 15; the final deadline is April 1.)
