Student Learning Outcomes

The sports marketing concentration is designed to prepare students who are interested in a marketing or marketing management career that is sports-related. Students will gain an understanding of sports marketing functions in management settings as well as a broad-based foundation in finance, accounting, and management. While gaining an understanding of the business environment, the concentration provides an overview of social, political, legal, technological, economic, behavioral, ethical, and international aspects as it applies to sports marketing.

Successful graduates of the sports marketing concentration will be able to:

  • Understand fundamental marketing concepts, theories, and principles in sports marketing.
  • Apply the knowledge, concepts, tools necessary to overcome challenges, and issues of sports marketing in a changing economic and technological landscape.
  • Develop creative solutions to sports marketing problems.
