Ramona Ilea is a Professor of Philosophy and the Director of the Center for a Sustainable Society at Pacific University. She has been at Pacific since 2006 and often teaches Environmental Ethics, Animal Ethics, Biomedical Ethics, and Logic classes. She won the President’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.
CSS staff, Finders Keepers Free Store Manager

Liz Bradley is an environmental biology student, minoring in creative writing and philosophy. They spend their time researching algae and running through forests. They are from Foresthill, California, and are currently motivated to work in sustainability by both the sounds of red breasted blackbirds and the massive wildfires sweeping through the forest they grew up in. Despite the unbalance in the world, they believe Pacific University can play an important role in fostering sustainability.

Valentina is half Mexican and half Slovak. She is currently a junior majoring in Environmental studies and International studies and minoring in Japanese. She is part of the women’s tennis team and the school band. As part of the CSS she plans on promoting more healthier, sustainable lifestyles which will benefit our planet.

Michelle is a sophomore attending Pacific University from Beaverton, Oregon. She has plans on majoring in Social Work with a minor in Fine Arts and Psychology. Being part of CSS, she hopes to encourage students to be more sustainable by providing opportunities to resources in order to reduce mass consumption. Such as Finder Keepers an event which allows students access to donated clothes for free, Boxer Food Share, or with donated materials that can be reused for arts and crafts. Michelle hopes to open up more events like these in order to help lower income students achieve a sustainable lifestyle without hurting their wallets. Outside of CSS, Michelle enjoys drawing, making jewelry, and spending quality time with her friends.

CSS staff, Default Veg co-coordinator

Katie is from Seattle, Washington. She is majoring in dance and psychology and minoring in Spanish. Katie is excited to work on the Default Veg campaign and more sustainability projects around campus. She is passionate about veganism and bringing more vegan options to our school community. Katie loves to dance, drink coffee, be outside, and travel.

Hunter Hill
CSS Staff

Hunter Hill is a third year student from Kula, Hawaii. He is currently majoring in Political Science and minoring in Environmental Policy. At CSS, he is in multiple teams consisting of social media promotion, the composting initiative, and facilities team. He hopes to learn more about the environmental issues facing the wider community and bring attention to student-related problems with a green context. In his free time back home, he enjoys paddle boarding, snorkeling, and collecting shells.

Andie is an expected graduate of '25 with a double major in anthropology and environmental studies and a minor in philosophy. She is passionate about creating a greener, more environmentally responsible, and sustainable future for the planet. Her work with the Center for Sustainable Society helps foster positive change and a more equitable future through great solutions and collaborative initiatives.

Nikko is a philosophy and theater student who is interested in promoting sustainable and ethical standards through use of education, outreach, and mutual aid. She's hoping the work done with the center engages the Pacific community to practice sustainability. She currently lives in the Environmental Interest House.

Kylie Pascual is a sophomore from Pearl City, Hawaii. She’s currently undeclared but has a passion for environmental science and studying humanities. At CSS, she’s in charge of managing CSS's social media. She hopes to get the community engaged in CSS in a creative way and expand the program to more colleges. Her goal is to teach everyone the difference between going “green” and going "sustainable”. In her free time, she loves playing soccer, reading, and listening to music.

Quinn is a Philosophy major and CJLS minor here at Pacific. They live in Portland and enjoy hiking, visiting the coast, and finding the best vegan restaurants downtown! Quinn plans on pursuing a masters in Philosophy and a doctorate in Law after their undergraduate education. They are passionate about animal rights and environmental advocacy; working on the CSS Sustainable Clothing and Default Veg campaigns helps to promote sustainable practices!

Tara is a senior from Oahu, Hawaii who is majoring in Environmental Ethics with a double minor in Chinese and Philosophy. She is very passionate about protecting the environment and promoting sustainable behaviors. During her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, painting, and photography.

Audrey is a first-year graduate student in Pacifc’s Master of Science Speech-Language Pathology program from Las Vegas, NV. She graduated from Pacific in Spring 2023 with a B.S. in psychology. She also plays the cello in the school’s Philharmonic Orchestra and teaches cello in Pacific’s String Project program. As part of CSS, she hopes to promote a healthier, more sustainable, and minimalistic lifestyle by reducing mass consumption. She loves spending time with family, cooking, baking, drinking coffee, and watching tennis in her free time.

Abigail Slama Catron

Abigail is a first year student from Sandy, Utah and is currently planning on double-majoring in Applied Sustainability and Politics. She is on the basketball and rowing team, and is an intern for the mayor of Forest Grove. She edits CSS videos, is in charge of the Youtube channel, and is the lead for the environmental policy group.

Cody Tomita is from Honolulu, Hawaii. He is currently a sophomore. Major undecided. Minoring in Japanese. He hopes to promote a more sustainable lifestyle to protect our environment and preserve its beauty. During his free time he likes to play video games and hang out with friends.

Theresa Hay grew up in Scappoose, Oregon and is currently a senior studying environmental biology. She is always happy to talk about anything animal or nature related and is passionate about protecting the environment through local action. During her free time she enjoys crafting, hiking, and writing fantasy novels.

Jack Weger (he/him) is from Newberg, Oregon and is planning to major in film/video with a minor in math. He really like cameras of all kinds and everything you can do with them & hopes that by taking this job his skills with a camera and skills behind the computer screen editing the pictures or videos will sharpen.

Isa (She/Her) is a freshman who is planning on majoring in criminal justice. Fun fact! She is obsessed with boba! Her work is mostly focused on the Finders Keepers Free Store on campus.

Madison Girdner
CSS Staff

Madison is a 4th-year transfer student from Portland Community College. She is majoring in Public Health with a minor in Psychology here at Pacific. Her passion for educating others on ways to be more sustainable during their menstrual cycle led her to start a Sustainable Period Product Team at CSS. During her free time, she enjoys learning about reproductive rights and justice and taking walks outside to admire nature.

Jey is a fourth-year Applied Sustainability and Music major here at Pacific. They focus on habitat restoration and hope to work in the national parks after graduation! In CSS, they focus on environmental politics education and advocacy.
