The Study Abroad Experience

“The Study Abroad Experience” is comprised of educational experience in and out of the classroom. By spending a semester abroad, a student will earn this focal study. This focal study prepares students for success in a globalized world by increasing their linguistic, cultural, and historical awareness of another country and its people. Students experience daily life in a culture outside of their own, and in turn, reflect on their own set of values. While abroad, students develop responsibility, adaptability, and independence, and multicultural, diverse, and global perspectives.

For this focal study students must earn at least 10 credits with a grade of C- or better during a semester abroad or during one semester of a year abroad.
