Students at Pacific are gearing up for Halloween with costume parties but also using the holiday season to promote civic engagement. Some of the events are happening before Halloween so mark your calendars for the following events:
food
Pacific University students will go door to door in Forest Grove on Halloween to collect non-perishable food to combat food insecurity.
Multicultural center
Nestled in the heart of Scott Hall you’ll find the Student Multicultural Center on the main floor. The SMC is a cozy space that feels like a family room with a couch, tables and chairs, a refrigerator, a sink and microwave. Students describe the center as a home away from home that is open to all students, faculty, staff, and parents.
football
Assistant Head Coach Ian Falconer, who has been with the Boxer football program since its return in 2010, will take over as head football coach at Pacific University at the end of the 2019 season.

Pacific alumnus, faculty member will succeed Dean Jenny Coyle in November.

Her Thursdays, for example, begin when she wakes up at 5 a.m. Then she drives for an hour to a horse barn in West Linn, where she feeds and cares for three horses. Then she rides, usually three or four horses for a minimum of 30 minutes each, then makes the return drive to Forest Grove. She arrives on campus about 12:30 p.m. and her first class is at 1 p.m.

Pacific University will extend a portion of its master of social work program to the Forest Grove Campus starting in Fall 2020.
Golden Guard
Homecoming Weekend is upon us, and this year's celebration will feature multiple class reunions, opportunities to meet deans and hear from the president, and football, volleyball and soccer games. More than 20 events are scheduled.

Eight English Literature and and Creative Writing majors have been selected to present original research at the 2019 Northwest Undergraduate Conference in the Humanities. 
Join us for Teatro Milagro’s Touring Production of Judge Torres featuring Pacific University student Élle Muñoz Robles. The play is followed by a talk-back discussion with the cast and director, which Pacific University Assistant Professor of English Elizabeth Tavares facilitates.
