The Pacific University School of Pharmacy plans to launch a five-year on-campus pathway to a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree — the first of its kind.

In October 2022, Pacific University School of Pharmacy students attended the Oregon State Pharmacy Association (OSPA) Annual Convention in Downtown Portland. At this event, the students participated in the OTC Self-Care Challenge where they competed against Oregon State University in a competition of Jeopardy. The Pacific University students prevailed and won with a score of 3200-0!
Dr. Jessie Merlo has been appointed by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists to the Section of Pharmacy Educators Advisory Group on Student Education and Learning Experiences.
It has been one year since the school has switched our experiential learning management system to CORE! We hope that active preceptors are enjoying the new system and are finding it intuitive to use. We want to highlight some important features of the system.
Fawzy Elbarbry
The National Institute of Health has awarded Pharmacy Professor Fawzy Elbarbry $365,966 for a three-year study as part of its “Support for Research Excellence” program. His study, which will involve student researchers, will examine alternate ways to treat hypertension.

Optometry and pharmacy — two of Pacific's specialties — are among the Top Jobs for 2022.
Marketa Marvanova
Dr. Marvanova previously served as dean and professor of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy at the University of Montana. Between July 2020 and September 2021, she also served as acting dean of the College of Health, overseeing five other accredited health profession schools.
The School of Pharmacy recognized the Class of 2022 at the Graduation and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 16th.  The official hooding took place on Saturday, May 18th at the Forest Grove Campus.  We wish our grads all the best and couldn’t be prouder!
