Pacific welcomes three new Human Resources staff members!

Pacific University is pleased to welcome Helen Howell as its new director for Human Resources. Howell joined the Pacific community on Dec. 1, 2021.
Winter break is right around the corner, and managing time-off on time cards may be at the forefront of your mind. Benefit-eligible employees receive paid holidays, and most university offices typically close on observed holidays as well.
To ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, the following time card approval deadlines have been adjusted in December.
The Internal Revenue Service has just announced the 2022 tax year annual cost of living adjustment (COLA) flexible spending account limits for 2022 are increasing. To allow for any changes, Open Enrollment is now re-opened until 5 p.m. (PST) Monday, Nov. 22.
The Human Resources team has partnered with Greater Than to collect new and used winter coats for K-6th grade students at Lincoln Street Elementary. There will be a collection bin at the HR office for drop off from  9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Donations must be dropped off by Monday, Nov. 29.
Kaiser Permanente-sponsored flu shot clinics will be on the Hillsboro and Forest Grove campuses in October. Flu shot clinics are open to faculty and staff employees and their covered family members 9 years and older. Children under 18 must have parental consent.
In lieu of the annual in-person Health and Benefits Fairs, there will be a virtual Benefits and Wellness Fair for faculty and staff from Tuesday, Oct. 26 to Friday, Oct. 29!

Supervisors who would like to continue employing current summer student employees on or after July 1, 2021, must submit student employee information to student payroll by 5 p.m. PST Monday, June 28, 2021.
