Rich Burk ’88 has always been a baseball fan, but it wasn’t until his junior college coach pointed him to Pacific University that he began to consider a career as a baseball announcer.
Derek ’92 and Betinna “Tina” (Cooper) Lasko ’65 have been awarded the 2013 Pacific University David & Sandy Lowe Outstanding Alumni Service Award for their ongoing support of Pacific University both through their business and in their volunteer leadership.
Melinda “Mindy” (Cottrell) Cameron ’65 has been awarded the 2013 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for her dedicated career in journalism, her longstanding service to Pacific University, including as a member of the Board of Trustees, and her commitment to improving education.
Dr. Ami (Heaton) Halvorson OD ’07 has been awarded the 2013 Pacific University Young Alumni Leadership Award for her professional work in optometry, including in Pacific University’s clinics, her mentorship of optometry students and her volunteer work supporting underserved populations.
The men’s tennis teams of the early 1960s were three-time NAIA District II team champions, winners of the 1964 NWC team championship with a perfect 13-0 record, and participants in the 1963 and 1964 NAIA National Championships.
