18 Years ago, Pacific University purchased a brand new Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). After seeing how important and beneficial the NMR was to the research students here at the college, Pacific University has decided to purchase a new and much more innovative NMR for students taking classes in the Chemistry department.
Alfonso Lopez-Vasquez career spans a period of over thirty years, having worked at all levels of the educational system including K-12, undergraduate, graduate and professional education. Alfonso Coordinates the development and implementation of diversity initiatives for the university.

P.J. Pitts, Pharm.D. ’09 has been awarded the 2012 Pacific University Young Alumni Leadership Award for her work to provide triage and long-term health care in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.
Clark Peters ’65, MSEd ’70 has been awarded the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Service Award for his years of service to public education in Oregon and his ongoing support of Pacific University’s speech and education programs.
Lynn Meredith ’44 has been posthumously awarded the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for his service in World War II and his 32 years protecting presidents in the U.S. Secret Service. He died in 2009 at the age of 84.
Irving Zemrau ’62, O.D. ’63 has been awarded the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for his years as an optometrist, as a community volunteer, and as an advocate for schizophrenics and their families following his son’s diagnosis with the illness.
