Christian J. Calderon is an Assistant Professor of Management at Pacific University, Oregon, where he has been shaping the next generation of business leaders since 2017. With over 15 years of corporate experience in strategic planning, project management, finance, and training, Professor Calderon brings real-world expertise to the classroom, equipping students with practical business insights alongside academic rigor.
Professor Calderon holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil Engineering from The City College of New York and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in International Management from Fordham University, both in New York City. He also completed Ph.D. coursework in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources at the University of Memphis, developing expertise in leadership, organizational behavior, and human resource strategy.

Before entering academia, Professor Calderon led high-impact business initiatives across construction, IT, and corporate consulting, working for major firms such as The Turner Corporation, one of the top construction companies in the U.S., and an international consulting firm in Miami. His career spans:
- Strategic Planning, Sales, & Finance – Partnering with senior executives to drive marketing, operational, and budget strategies, including increasing sales by 50%, doubling customer engagement, and cutting sales expenses by 40% through data-driven decision-making. His financial expertise includes cost analysis for $100M+ construction projects and managing billable costs exceeding $500K for consulting firms.
- Project Management & IT Solutions – Certified in PMI methodologies, he has led business process improvement and IT initiatives to enhance efficiency. Key projects include developing 65+ hours of online training, saving $6M in labor costs, deploying custom IT applications for 3,000 users, and optimizing business processes to eliminate inefficiencies.
