The Kathrin Cawein Gallery of Art, located in Boxer Hall on Pacific University’s Forest Grove Campus, features rotating exhibits throughout the academic year, along with artist receptions and artist talks associated with each exhibit.
Admission to the gallery and most artist events is free.
The gallery is named for the late Kathrin Cawein of New York, who was an accomplished printmaker and established an endowed scholarship for students of the art at Pacific.
Cawein Gallery Exhibit Submissions
The Cawein Gallery welcomes submissions from artists interested in showing their work at Pacific University. Proposals are reviewed and evaluated based on aesthetic appeal, conceptual merit, and contemporary relevance. Learn more about the submission process.
Permanent Art Collection
The Pacific University Permanent Art Collection is an extension of the Kathrin Cawein Gallery’s exhibition program and includes more than 1,200 original works of art from regionally, nationally and internationaly acclaimed artists. An interdisciplinary collection of drawings, paintings, sculpture, prints, photography, glass and metal-smithing, the collection represents professional art, student art, Asian art, and Latin American folk art.
