Helping Someone

If a friend, colleague or other member of the Pacific community shares with you an experience of sexual harassment or sexual assault you can help by providing compassion, understanding and guiding them to resources.

Pacific University encourages all individuals to share information they learn about sexual harassment or sexual assault with the Title IX Coordinator. Reporting to the Title IX Coordinator ensures that the individual who experienced the harm will be provided with information so that they can make a fully informed decision about what, if anything, they want to do next, get connected to resources, and be provided with supportive measures that allow them to fully access the University’s programs and activities while they decide their next steps. Note: If you are an employee (including resident assistants) of Pacific University, you have an obligation to report any disclosure of sexual harassment or sexual assault to the Title IX Coordinator. If you are a teaching assistant you have an obligation to report any disclosure made to you in your capacity as a teaching assistant.
