Pacific University's Visiting Writers Series is excited to announce that internationally-bestselling author Vanessa Chan will be visiting campus to give a reading and Q&A! We hope you will join us to learn about Vanessa's work and writing, including her debut novel The Storm We Made and her upcoming short story collection THE UGLIEST BABIES IN THE WORLD. All members of the Pacific University community are welcome to attend!

Vanessa Chan's reading and Q&A will be hosted by Pacific's wonderful Professor of English Dr. Keya Mitra in Taylor Auditorium (Marsh 216) on May 2, from 7 to 8 p.m.

About Vanessa Chan:
Vanessa Chan is the Malaysian author of the internationally bestselling novel THE STORM WE MADE, a Good Morning America Book Club Pick and BBC Radio 2 Book Club pick, about the unlikeliest of spies—a discontent mother and wife in 1930s British Malaya who, in becoming a spy for the Japanese, unwittingly ushers in the most violent war her country has ever seen. THE STORM WE MADE will be translated into more than twenty languages/regions worldwide including with Marysue Rucci Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster (US) and Hodder & Stoughton, an imprint of Hachette (UK).Vanessa is also the author of THE UGLIEST BABIES IN THE WORLD, a story collection about feral girls in post-colonial Malaysia trying to solve the mysteries of their bloodlines, also forthcoming from Marysue Rucci Books.
