Guaranteed Grad School AdmissionThe Pacific University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program participates in Pacific’s Guaranteed Grad School Admission Program. Students may apply for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Guaranteed Admission Program as soon as they commit to Pacific as undergraduates or transfer students, or at any time during their undergraduate program.

Students who are admitted through the Guaranteed Grad School Admissions Program will have a place held for them in Pacific’s DPT program. Students will need to complete the PTCAS application, including transcripts, letters of recommendation, observation hours, and essays, by the stated deadline to qualify for admission, and must at that time:

  • Be on track to complete their bachelor’s degree, in good standing, at Pacific with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, a minimum cumulative prerequisite GPA of 3.5 with at least 24 prerequisite credits completed.

    OR

  • Have complete their bachelor’s degree, in good standing, at Pacific with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5; and
  • Have complete all DPT prerequisite courses with a grade of C or better and a minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.5.

Applicants also must have 50 verified observation hours to complete their application. We encourage applicants to obtain at least 100 hours of paid or volunteer observation hours in two or more settings with a practicing, licensed physical therapist.

Students who complete these requirements may enroll in the DPT program during the entry term for which they have applied. Students may also choose to defer their admission to the DPT program for up to one year.

Students participating in the Guaranteed Grad School Admission Program and meeting the minimum admissions requirements — but not the criteria above — will be guaranteed an admissions interview.
