Meaningful Teaching Experiences

At Pacific, we believe in experience. You will get into classrooms early and spend hundreds of hours gaining teaching experience as you learn. We work with school districts throughout the state, so you can practice under mentor teachers in your own community.

The Pacific University College of Education has campuses in Forest Grove, Eugene and Woodburn, as well as partnerships with school districts throughout Oregon. 

We offer full-time, part-time and hybrid (online and in-person) programs designed to fit your life.

Start Your College Experience

Earn your bachelor’s degree and teaching license in a full-time, residential college setting. Earn your endorsement for elementary, secondary or special education teaching. Start as a freshman or transfer to Pacific to earn your bachelor of arts in education and learning.

Complete Your Degree

Designed for community college transfer students and working K-12 school staff, the Bachelor of Education Program offers a flexible route to a bachelor’s degree and teaching license. This hybrid program is offered in a combination of online and evening/weekend classes that you can complete while working. Available on our Forest Grove, Woodburn and Eugene Campuses, and in partnership with school districts statewide, the BEd lets you complete your student-teaching in your own community as you earn your teaching license and an endorsement in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Earn a Master’s & Teaching License

Already have your bachelor’s degree but want to start teaching? Our Master of Arts in Teaching Programs offer flexible full- and part-time preparation to teach at the elementary, middle or high school level. Your MAT in General Education lets you choose your endorsement subjects. Earn an MAT in the high-demand field of special education. General and special ed MAT programs are available in Forest Grove and Eugene, with school placements statewide. Or prepare to teach science and math — with an ESOL endorsement — with our STEM program in Woodburn.

MAT Programs

Finish Your License with the Residency Teacher Licensure Program

The Residency Teacher Licensure Program is designed for teachers with bachelor’s degrees who were hired under district-sponsored licensure. This non-degree program prepares and supports these new classroom teachers with online classes and innovative coaching to earn their Oregon Preliminary Teaching License during their first year of teaching. The program is specifically designed for the busy working life of a first-year teacher.
