Giant Crane Installed at Residence Hall Construction Site
Construction crews installed a large-scale crane Tuesday at the site of Pacific University's newest residence hall.
According to Walsh Construction, the crane is about 125 feet tall, with an arm length of 148 feet. With the strength to haul 13, 228 pounds of material, the crane will be used for hoisting construction materials — such as lifting roof trusses from the ground to the top of the fourth-floor walls.
The crane was trucked down I-5 from Seattle on Monday and assembled on site on Tuesday. Watch it come together in this quick time lapse video.
