CSD Faculty Wins Teaching Award

Pacific University School of Communication Sciences and Disorders is proud to announce Dr. Amanda Stead as the winner of the 2013 Award for Excellence in Research and Teaching. The Oregon Speech-Language & Hearing Association (OSHA) presented the award to Dr. Stead during the state conference held earlier this month.

“Her vision for academia is one that simultaneously supports and challenges students, allowing them to optimize their classroom learning and apply this knowledge to the clinical experience," said Kyla Dirks, a current graduate student in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

OSHA also presented second-year CSD graduate student Krista Stangel with the Outstanding Student Award and Scholarship. Only three students in Oregon are presented with such an honor.
