Center Releases Annual Report on Sustainability
The Pacific University Center for a Sustainable Society has released its first annual report (pdf) after its start-up in July 2012. The center had an eventful first year, with many accomplishments but also many projects still in the works.
Major accomplishments include developing a sustainability strategic plan, conducting a greenhouse gas inventory for natural gas and electricity consumption, producing two videos on sustainability, writing a draft landscape plan for the university, obtaining an incentive grant for the Marsh Hall boiler replacement, moving forward with office greening, and developing a sustainability action plan for the City of Forest Grove. The report will be discussed at the University Council meeting on Thursday, Oct. 10.
