Alumni Service Award Renamed to Honor David and Sandy Lowe

The Outstanding Service Award honors David and Sandy Lowe, who were ardent supporters of Pacific University throughout their lives.

David and Sandy were killed in a car crash in February 2011. David graduated with a degree in political science and Sandy with a degree in English and sociology and later a master’s in education. He worked at Pacific in University Advancement for 17 years and served on the Board of Trustees from 2005 until his death.

In 1986, the Lowes moved to Florida, where they both worked for Florida Atlantic University, David as a development officer and associate vice president for Development, and Sandra teaching business and writing.

In recent years the Lowes retired and enjoyed spending time with their three children.

The Outstanding Alumni Service Award, given annually by the Alumni Association recognizing alumni for significant contributions of time, service and talents to Pacific University has been renamed in their honor.
