Become a Professionally-Trained Spanish Healthcare Interpreter in 16 Weeks in the Online Spanish Healthcare Interpreter Program

A healthcare interpreter and a physician assisting a patient in a hospital bed.

The School of Healthcare Administration and Leadership is excited to offer the fully-online Spanish Healthcare Interpreter Program training program again in the spring.  The program is an innovative online training opportunity for individuals who are fluent in both English and Spanish to become professionally-trained Spanish healthcare interpreters in Oregon, Washington, and California.  The program is a 64-hour program delivered in a synchronous online format using Zoom.  The program is specifically designed for working professionals and is taught in 2-hour online sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm PST over the course of 16 weeks.

Participants who successfully complete the training program will be issued a certificate of completion. This certificate satisfies the documentation requirement of completion of an Oregon Health Authority-approved training program, which allows the participant to apply for the Qualified Interpreter credential in Oregon or to take the certification exam if a participant wants to become Certified in Oregon.

You can find more information regarding the Oregon healthcare interpreter requirements here.

Washington and California residents can find information about their state’s healthcare interpreter requirements by visiting the sites below:
