Practice/Research Interests

Dr. Gilliam is an emergency medicine and critical care clinical pharmacy specialist.  He is passionate about teaching others how to care for critically ill and injured patients.  He also researches strategies to better support pharmacy student success using improved communication, a focus on professional identity formation, and socio-emotional intelligence.

Outside the Classroom

Dr. Gilliam is known as a foodie and home cook, an avid hiker and outdoors-men, as well as a musician. His favorite challenge was thru-hiking the 500 mile-long Colorado Trail in 2022 and is currently exploring trails across Oregon and the PNW. He also sings Baritone with the Portland Gay Men's Chorus.
