Exempt Event Staff Can Now Accrue Commencement Floating Holidays for Service
Pacific University adopted a Floating Holiday Award for commencement event staff to recognize the additional duties and contributions of exempt staff when assisting with the May and August commencement ceremonies for our graduates.
Salary-exempt staff who work at the May Commencement will be assigned commencement floating holiday hours to be used through April 30, 2025; up to four hours per shift (or up to eight hours for the entire day). Learn more about this new policy.
Hourly non-exempt staff must work with their supervisor to adjust their schedule or receive overtime to assist at commencement.
Interested in registering to assist at one or both of the commencement ceremonies on May 18? Event staff are needed to assist with guest seating/ushering, shuttle driving, guest support, and countless other ways during the morning ( approx. 7 - 11 a.m.) and afternoon (approx. 11:30-3:30 p.m.) shifts. Snacks, beverages, and lunch will be provided. Sign up today to be a part of this special day to celebrate our graduates.
