Mindy is the former editorial page editor at the Seattle Times and managing editor at the Lewiston Morning Tribune and she worked at the Idaho Statesman in Boise and for public television in Boise and Rochester, New York.

During the event, Mindy will read an excerpt from her memoir Leaving the Boys: A Story of Motherhood and Career, Feminism and Romance.

Leaving the Boys: A Story of Motherhood and Career, Feminism and Romance is a story about one woman’s path through shifting cultural norms. It’s for women who aspire and the men who love them. In revealing an unexpected pregnancy that altered career dreams, Mindy Cameron brings to life a tale that is both personal and universal in illuminating the tension between motherhood, desire, and regret. Cameron’s determination to pursue her career is relatable even as her decision to leave her sons may be met with incredulity. Though set in an earlier era, the story is as modern as today’s headlines.
