College of Health Profession Students Provide Medical Services for Special Olympics
For the past few years, the Master of Athletic Training Program has provided medical services numerous Special Olympic events. Last year, we began providing this opportunity to all of the students in the College of Health Professions; giving students the chance to work interprofessionally.
Most recently a group of 40+ students from Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Associates Studies and Audiology came together to provide medical coverage for the 2023 Youth Games which was held at the Nike campus in Beaverton. During this event the team provided care for over 500 Special Olympic athletes.
