What is a World Café?
Pacific University and our partners at the Benefactor Group will host three World Café sessions next week to collect faculty and staff input as part of the “discovery” process in building our next strategic plan. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard before the draft plan is developed!
In the World Café setting, there are several tables set up for guided discussion on specific topics. Each table has a topic and host, and participants move from table to table, spending about 20 minutes in discussion at each.
The full session lasts about two hours, and participants also can tour the tables and review the discussion highlights for about an hour after the session concludes. The format works best when participants engage in the full two hours and attend as many tables as possible, but employees are welcome to arrive late or leave early as needed.
Sessions will be held:
- Tuesday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon, Hillsboro Building 2 Atrium
- Wednesday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, University Center MPR
- Thursday, May 11, from 9 to 11 a.m., via Zoom (please register in advance for Zoom link)
All employees also will receive a survey following the World Cafés to provide additional thoughts.
