Dawn M. Salgado Promoted to Full Professor
Dawn Salgado has been promoted to full professor at Pacific University.
Salgado teaches courses in the undergraduate psychology program in the College of Arts & Sciences, focusing on psychological health and well-being, mindfulness, and community psychology.
She has served for 10 years as the faculty mentor of the Psychology/Psi Chi Honors Society, has an active research lab presenting 30+ professional presentations with student co-authors, and is a certified trainer of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
Her published scholarship includes peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on topics related to attitudes toward seeking psychotherapy, gender, and well-being. She was awarded Fellow Status in the Western Psychological Association in 2020, an Intercollegiate Collaborative Grant in 2019, the Engaged Faculty Award in 2017, and the Psi Chi Faculty Advisor Award for the Western Region in 2014.
The non-tenure promotion in rank for faculty members is granted upon recommendation by college personnel committees and approval by the University Personnel Committee president.
