Pacific Welcomes New Human Resources Staff Members

The Human Resources team is pleased to introduce three new staff members to Pacific University — Mikayla Obrist, Martha Martinez and Kelsey Delanoy!

“The HR team’s mission and values are to empower the Pacific University workforce by providing resources and partnerships through a safe and equitable experience," said Helen Howell, HR director.

"I believe Mikayla, Martha, and Kelsey are great additions that will help fulfill and sustain our vision amd purpose.”

“We are pleased to complete our team with these three new fabulous team members,” added Tammy Scheenstra, Human Resources associate director.

Mikayla Obrist

Mikayla "Kayla" Obrist joined the team as a Payroll clerk on ­­­­July 1.MO

Obrist first joined the Pacific team as an intern in October 2020, and also worked for Walmart as a team lead. She decided to join our team full-time so that she could gain more experience with payroll and customer service “with a team that she already knew was fantastic to work with.” 

In her spare time, she loves to read, take road trips, and go on long walks. 

Martha Martinez

Martha MarMMtinez joined the team as a Payroll specialist on ­­­­Aug. 22.

Martinez has several years of experience in higher education payroll as well as agricultural payroll. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, dancing and reading with her cat curled up next to her.  

“My goal is accuracy and transparency. There is no silly question when it comes to your paycheck, so I will make myself available as much as possible”, said Martinez.

 

Kelsey Delanoy

KDKelsey Delanoy joined the team as an HR generalist on ­­­­Nov.1.

Delanoy started working at Pacific University in August 2019 for the Business Office team. She started as a Student Account coordinator and then moved to Accounts Receivable. She has served as Staff Senate chair-elect and is currently Staff Senate chair. Her hobbies include hiking and photography. She also loves beach trips with her furry buddy!

“I have always been interested in Human Resources…I love getting to know more people on campus; students, faculty and staff…my new position on the HR team will definitely allow that”, said Delanoy.

Welcome Kayla, Martha & Kelsey

All three staff members are located in the Human Resources office in the Frye building on the Forest Grove Campus.
