In Memoriam: Matthew "Matt" R. Wierima ’00

Matthew "Matt" Wierima ’00 died Sept. 16, 2022, at age 44. Born May 30, 1978, he grew up in Boring, Ore., attending the Boring Grade and Middle Schools, graduating from Sandy High School. He attended Pacific University and was completing his credential in counseling at the time of his death. 

Wierima was preceded in death by his father, Mike Wierima; aunt, Carol Kopach; and loving grandparents, Jack and Elaine Larson, and Taimi and Ken Wierima. He is survived by his mother, Jan Wierima; brother, Brian (and Anita); nephew, Ben; niece, Summer; the wonderful Reyes and Weston families; and so many friends who became treasured family over the years.
