In Memoriam: John H. Jones ’60

John H. Jones ’60 died June 9, 2022, at age 85. Jones was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was born the youngest of seven children in 1936 in Baker City, Ore., to Ross Jones and Emma Prahl Jones. Soon after his birth, the family moved to the Prahl homestead in Hillsboro, where he graduated from Hilhi High School. He majored in sociology at Pacific, and had a career as a sales representative for Consolidated Cigar Corporation. His lifelong interests included travel, cigars, golf, and University of Oregon football.

Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Emma; and his sisters, Evelyn, Betty and Irene. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice; children, Karen (and Eric) Jacobsen, John, and Bob; daughter-in-law Tracey Jones; brothers Don and Bob; and grandchildren Adrianne, Amelia, Fiona, and Jett.
