Latinx Studies Program Presents the 'U.S. Migration Symposium: On Borders & Belonging'
Pacific University's Latinx Studies Program invites you to the "U.S. Migration Symposium: On Borders & Belonging," a two-day symposium centered on the politics of migration in the United States, as it relates to themes of borders, mobility, citizenship, immigration policy, and belonging.
Seeking to historicize social and political conditions that inform migrant crossings, this symposium aims to create a space for social awareness and communal engagement. As such, the symposium will be a purposefully collaborative project between students, faculty, and local outreach programs.
The symposium will take place throughout the day, Wednesday and Thursday April 27 and 28, at locations across the Forest Grove Campus.
Programming includes: student and faculty panels, a volunteer table — linking students to community organizations, performances around campus, a creative writing workshop and a closing performing arts event.
View the schedule and list of presenters. Register to perform in the arts showcase by April 22.
This event is sponsored with support from the Department of World Languages and the Student Multicultural Center.
