Pacific University Celebrates Juneteenth

Juneteenth marks the date that the last enslaved people in America learned of their freedom on June 19, 1865, more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. The holiday is a time for refection and celebration. Please join Pacific University for a day filled with thought-provoking discussions and celebrations brought to you via Zoom. Please register in advance for the following events:

At 3 p.m., join Pacific University for a virtual cookout in honor of Juneteenth, complete with a cooking tutorial for cowpea salad, trivia and songs. This event is free and open to the Pacific community, but registration is required. Participants will receive a list of ingredients to follow along with Bon Appétit's salad preparation.

In observance of Juneteenth, no SGP classes will be held Friday, June 18, but SGP offices will remain open. Also the Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinic will be closed on Saturday, June 19 in honor of the holiday.
