Melissa Yokoyama PharmD '21: Viatris Excellence in Pharmacy Award from the School of Pharmacy

Melisssa Yokoyama PharmD '21 received the 2021 Viatris Excellence in Pharmacy Award from the Pacific University School of Pharmacy.

This award recognizes a graduating student who has achieved academic success and demonstrated a unique ability to communicate drug information and high professional motivation to improve practice.

“Throughout pharmacy school, Melissa embodied both personal resiliency and a positive outlook,” her nomination said. “Many of her clinical preceptors commented on her ability to be a quick learner and collaborative team member.” She placed in the top 25 percent of her class academically.

Yokoyama graduated in May 2021.

The Pacific University School of Pharmacy offers a three-year path to a doctor of pharmacy degree that prepares students to earn licensure to work in patient care. The school also offers a master of science in pharmaceutical sciences focused on research.
