Alfonso Sitenga '18, OD '21: Optelec Low Vision Award from the College of Optometry

Alfonso Sitenga '18, OD '21 received the Optelec Low Vision Award from the Pacific University College of Optometry.

The award honors an optometry student for distinguished performance in low vision care.

Sitenga, who is from Homer, Alaska, graduated in May 2021 with a doctorate in optometry.

The College of Optometry provides a foundation in basic and clinical sciences, as well as significant hands-on experience in serving diverse populations of patients. Students also are involved in outreach locally and around the world, as they prepare to serve patients anywhere their careers take them. The college offers bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs in vision science, as well as a doctor of optometry degree.
