Ian Cheslock '21: College of Optometry Outstanding Clinician Award

Ian Cheslock OD ’21 received the Pacific University College of Optometry’s 2021 Outstanding Clinician Award.

His professors noted his "outstanding performance as an all-around optometric clinician."

Cheslock, who is from Longview, Wash., is a legacy optometrist. His father, William Cheslock ’77, OD ’80, and his grandfather, John T. Cheslock ’68, OD ’70, both graduated from Pacific. 

Ian Cheslock, in fact, had the privilege of carving his grandfather's name into the wet concrete outside College Hall when his grandfather's class reached Golden Guard status.

Ian Cheslock graduated in May 2021 with his doctor of optometry.

The College of Optometry provides a foundation in basic and clinical sciences, as well as significant hands-on experience in serving diverse populations of patients. Students also are involved in outreach locally and around the world, as they prepare to serve patients anywhere their careers take them. The college offers bachelors, master’s and PhD programs in vision science, as well as a doctor of optometry degree.
