Jenna Matsuura PT '21 | Pacific University School of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training | 2021 Physical Therapy Community Service Award

JENNA MATSUURAJenna Matsuura PT ’21 has received a 2021 Physical Therapy Community Service Award from the Pacific University School of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training. This award recognizes students who have  a demonstrated a history of service either within the Pacific University community or in the greater community.

“Jenna Matsuura was a classroom volunteer at a charter school in Hawai’i, contributing over 120 hours of her time to youth in need; she also logged 110 hours at a Waikiki community preschool as a generous contributor,” said nominators. “She is also the director of KAU OLA, a nonprofit organization that promotes the health of native Hawaiians.”

Matsuura, who is from Wahiawa, Hawai‘i, is among four May 2021 graduates receiving Physical Therapy Community Service Awards. Others include Melissa Williams PT ’21, Tiffany Kugiya PT ’21, and Stacia Torborg PT ’21.

The doctor of physical therapy program prepares well-rounded candidates for certification and licensure as healthcare professionals who can deliver person-centered care. Pacific offers a curriculum that is balanced in the areas of orthopedic, neurologic, and general physical therapy with attention to the needs of pediatric patients, geriatric patients, and other special populations.
