Austin Jensen OD '21: Donald A. Bybee Memorial Award for Vision Therapy from the College of Optometry
Austin Jensen OD '21 received the Donald A. Bybee Memorial Award for Vision Therapy from the Pacific University College of Optometry.
The memorial award recognizes a graduating optometry student for overall academic excellence, leadership, community service, and a commitment to fulfill the values of Pacific University’s mission.
Jensen, who earned a doctor in optometry in May 2021, has worked in a high-paced ocular disease setting at a Veterans Affairs medical center, in primary care at a private practice and at an Air Force base, as well as at a vision therapy clinic.
The College of Optometry provides a foundation in basic and clinical sciences, as well as significant hands-on experience in serving diverse populations of patients. Students also are involved in outreach locally and around the world, as they prepare to serve patients anywhere their careers take them. The college offers bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs in vision science, as well as a doctor of optometry degree.
