In Memoriam: Jack Beu '57

Jack Beu '57 died Dec. 31, 2019, at age 87. Education was important to Beu, who attended Pacific University on a Rotary scholarship, while working as a janitor at Harvey Clark Elementary in Forest Grove. Military service interrupted Beu’s time at Pacific for two years during the Korean conflict before he graduated with a bachelor of arts in education. In 1970, Beu moved to the Forest Grove School District, where he served four elementary schools (Gales Creek, Joseph Gale, Harvey Clark and Echo Shaw) as principal until his retirement in 1992. 

Beu was preceded in death by his sister, Doris. He is survived by his wife, Winnie; his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Jeff; his son and daughter-in-law, B.J. and Mary; his grandson, Michael, and by extended family.
